Foundation and waterproofing work in Wales
Wales sits on the edge of the Kettle Moraine between Genesee and Delafield, and plenty of homes here are on high ground or tucked into slopes. People assume a house on a hill stays dry. Then spring comes, the snow melts, and groundwater surfaces through the dense clay a foot or two under the topsoil. That clay drains slowly and holds water against the foundation, so a basement on high ground can take on water right alongside one in a low spot.
We start by finding where your water actually comes from, whether it's a perched layer in the clay, runoff down the slope, or a crack in the wall. Exterior waterproofing with new weeping tile in washed gravel gives surfacing water a path around the house. Interior drain tile to a sump with battery backup handles seepage at the floor joint. If the clay has pushed a wall in, carbon fiber straps or steel I-beams come first. Egress windows, vapor barriers and support beams are part of what we do, and we pull permits when the Village of Wales requires them.
