Foundation and waterproofing work in New Berlin
New Berlin covers a lot of ground, and the housing spans several decades. Ranches from the 1950s, split-levels from the 60s and 70s, and newer homes from the 80s and 90s are spread across a wide area of southeast Waukesha County. Split-levels come with their own habit: the lower room sits partly below grade, often finished as a family room, and it's the first place water shows up. Seepage along the base of that wall after snowmelt is one of the calls we hear most from New Berlin.
Our shop in Waukesha is close, so crossing New Berlin from end to end is an easy drive for us. We look at the wall type, whether it's moving, and where the water comes in. Cracks get sealed, and bowing walls get carbon fiber straps or steel beams. Interior drain tile with a sump pump and battery backup handles joint seepage from inside, and exterior waterproofing to the footing stops water at the source when digging makes sense. We add wall sealing, vapor barrier and egress windows too. When the City of New Berlin requires a permit, we pull it.
