Foundation and waterproofing work in Mukwonago
Mukwonago keeps growing to the south, and its basements show it. Near the old village center you find older block foundations that have been through decades of deep frost. Out in the newer subdivisions the walls are poured concrete, often set on clay that was cut, moved and regraded when the lots were built. Disturbed clay settles and holds water differently than ground that was left alone, so a young house can still show a vertical crack or damp corner within a few years of move-in.
We are a family crew out of Waukesha, working since 1998, and we come down to Mukwonago regularly, including homes on the Walworth County side. The visit starts with the walls: is there movement, where is the water getting in, and how old is the drain system. From there it might be crack injection, carbon fiber or steel beams, interior drain tile with a sump pump, exterior waterproofing or an egress window. When the Village of Mukwonago requires a permit, we pull it.
