Foundation and waterproofing work in West Allis
West Allis is bungalow country. Block after block of early 1900s bungalows and two-flat duplexes sit shoulder to shoulder on narrow lots, and a lot of those basements now hold a family room, a laundry, or a bedroom for a tenant. That makes a wet corner or a cracked wall a bigger problem than it used to be. The walls are old, the glacial clay around them swells every spring, and deep frost works on the mortar each winter. When the gap to the neighbor's house is a few feet wide, there's often no room to bring in a digger either.
So a lot of our West Allis work happens from the inside. We seal cracks, hold bowing walls with carbon fiber straps or steel beams bolted floor to joist, and trench interior drain tile under the slab to a sump pump with battery backup. Where a side yard allows it, exterior waterproofing stops the water at the wall itself. We also seal damp walls, lay vapor barrier, and cut egress windows so a lower level can be a legal bedroom. When the City of West Allis requires a permit, we pull it.
