Foundation and waterproofing work in Dousman
Dousman is two kinds of place at once. In the village core along the Bark River you find older homes with block and fieldstone basements that have been through a lot of wet springs. Out past the edge of the village, houses sit on farm-country lots where fields drain across open ground toward the foundation. Both deal with the same glacial clay and deep frost, and both feel it when the river runs high and the ground stays soaked into May.
For the older village homes, we usually find cracked or bowing block, and we brace it with carbon fiber straps or steel I-beams before sealing anything. On rural lots, the fix is often about moving water: exterior waterproofing with new weeping tile at the footing, or interior drain tile to a sump with battery backup when digging isn't practical. We handle interior sealing, vapor barriers, egress windows and steel support beams too, and when the Village of Dousman requires a permit, we pull it.
