Foundation Repair for Eagle homes
Eagle sits right against the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, and the ground here shows it. Glaciers left hills, hollows and pockets of heavy clay, and many homes in and around the village are built into a slope. That usually means a walkout basement, with one side of the foundation buried deep in the hill and the other side open to daylight. The buried walls carry the load of the soil above them, and after a storm that soil gets heavy with water.
Walkouts in hilly country have a pattern. Runoff comes down the slope and collects against the uphill wall. The clay there swells, frost gets into it, and the wall slowly starts to lean or crack along its length. Side walls that step down the hill often show diagonal cracks where the load changes. Those are the spots we measure first, because they tell us how much the hill is pushing and whether the wall is still on the move.
Most of these walls can be held from inside. Carbon fiber straps work for early bowing, and steel I-beams anchored at the floor and joists handle walls that have moved more. Cracks are sealed with hydraulic cement or structural sealant. Nick or Luis will explain what they see, and you get a written quote with the structural repair up front.
