Exterior Waterproofing for Eagle homes
Eagle sits right at the edge of the Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit, and the ground shows it. Hills, kettles and glacial ridges mean a lot of homes in and around Eagle are built into a slope, with a walkout on the low side and a buried wall on the high side. That buried wall does the hardest job in the house. Every rain and every thaw, water runs down the hill, soaks into the clay and presses against it.
Walkout basements also have a tricky transition where the full-height wall steps down to grade along the sides. Water likes to collect in that step, and it's a common spot for leaks and cracks. We look at how the lot drains before anything else: where water comes off the hill, where it pools and which walls carry the most wet soil. That tells us how much of the foundation needs to be opened and waterproofed.
On the uphill wall we excavate to the footing, clean and repair the concrete or block, then apply a liquid waterproof membrane with dimple board over it. New weeping tile goes in at the footing inside washed gravel, carrying water along and away from the house. The backfill is graded so the next storm runs around your home. When the Village of Eagle requires a permit for the work, we pull it and set up the inspection.
