Exterior Waterproofing for Eagleville homes
Eagleville is a small crossroads community in western Waukesha County, a few miles from Eagle, and a lot of the homes here are older farmhouses on big lots. Out this way there's no city storm sewer carrying water off the street, so every drop that falls on your land has to go somewhere. Too often it finds the basement. An old fieldstone or block foundation that has sat in wet glacial clay for generations tends to show it: damp walls, a musty smell, water along the floor after a thaw.
People out here are used to handling things themselves, and plenty have tried the basement fixes from the hardware store. Masonry paint, a bead of caulk, a new downspout extension. Those help a bit, but the water is still sitting against the outside of the wall. Exterior waterproofing gets at it directly. We dig along the foundation to the footing so you can see the whole wall, and we fix what's there.
After the wall is cleaned and repaired, a liquid waterproof membrane goes on and dimple board goes over it. We lay new weeping tile at the footing in washed gravel and plan where it drains on your property, since there's no curb to send it to. The backfill is graded away from the house. If a barn or other outbuilding has a foundation taking water, we can look at that too. When the town building inspector requires a permit, we pull it.
