Exterior Waterproofing for Genesee homes
The Town of Genesee is rolling Kettle Moraine country, with houses set on hillsides and large lots that open onto fields and woods. That landscape is beautiful, and it moves a lot of water. Rain and snowmelt travel a long way across open ground here before they reach a house, and when the house sits at the bottom of that path, the basement wall takes all of it. Walkouts built into the hills are especially exposed on the uphill side.
What we usually find in Genesee is a wall that has been wet for a long time: clay packed against it, old drain tile that silted up years ago, and cracks that opened a little more every frost. A downspout extension and a bag of topsoil can't fix that. We start by tracing the water. Where does it come off the land, which wall does it hit, and how deep is the footing on that side?
From there, the exterior work is thorough. We excavate the problem walls to the footing, clean and repair them, and coat them with a liquid waterproof membrane under dimple board. New weeping tile goes in at the footing inside washed gravel, and we plan where it discharges on your lot. Backfill goes in graded to push surface water around the home. When the Town of Genesee requires a permit, we pull it and handle the inspection.
