Foundation and waterproofing work in Genesee Depot
Genesee Depot is a small hamlet in the Town of Genesee, known for Ten Chimneys, the historic Lunt-Fontanne estate. The homes around the old depot area are few and mostly older, and the people who own them tend to love the character: original trim, old windows, stone steps and landscaping that has grown in for decades. Underneath, those houses often sit on block, stone or early poured walls that have taken a long beating from clay soil, deep frost and spring melt.
Our job in a house like that is to fix the basement and leave the rest of it looking like itself. We work from inside wherever we can, bracing walls with carbon fiber straps or steel I-beams, installing interior drain tile to a sump with battery backup, and sealing walls with a vapor barrier. When exterior waterproofing is the right call, we plan the dig around the plantings and stonework. Egress windows and steel support beams are handled with the same care. When the Town of Genesee requires a permit, we pull it.
