Interior Drain Tile for Genesee Depot homes
Genesee Depot is a small hamlet in the Town of Genesee, home to Ten Chimneys, the historic Lunt-Fontanne estate, and a handful of older houses clustered around the old depot area. People who own homes here tend to care about keeping the original character, from the trim to the stonework to the old trees in the yard. So when a basement starts taking on water, the question we hear first is how much of the house is going to get disturbed.
With interior drain tile, the answer is very little. The work stays below the basement floor. We cut a narrow band of slab along the walls, trench down beside the footing, lay perforated pipe in washed gravel, and pour the floor back. Water that used to seep through the joint now drops into the pipe and runs to a sump crock, where a pump with battery backup sends it outside. Nothing changes about how the house looks from the street.
