Foundation and waterproofing work in Lannon
Lannon gave its name to the cream-colored limestone that shows up on houses all over southeast Wisconsin, and plenty of it stayed right here in the village. You see Lannon stone on fronts, chimneys and backyard retaining walls. Under many of those homes sit older stone or concrete block foundations, and those take a different kind of care than a modern poured wall. Mortar between stones and blocks wears out over the years, water finds the joints, and the wet clay behind them starts pushing.
We treat a stone foundation gently. Loose joints get repointed and cracks get sealed before any heavier fix is on the table. For block walls that have started to lean, carbon fiber straps or steel I-beams anchored to the floor and joists hold them in place. When water is the main problem, interior drain tile with a sump pump carries it away without tearing up your stone landscaping, and exterior waterproofing is there for walls that need it. We also cut egress windows and set steel support beams. When the Village of Lannon requires a permit, we pull it.
