Interior Drain Tile for Big Bend homes
Big Bend sits on the Fox River in southern Waukesha County, and every spring the river reminds people where they live. Snowmelt and early rain push the water up, the ground around homes near the river stays soaked for weeks, and basements that were dry in January start to show a wet edge along the floor. Some of the calls we get come from older homes in the village itself. Others come from houses out on rural lots, where the water has nowhere to go but down.
High groundwater pushes up and in at the same time. It presses against the walls and comes in where the wall meets the slab, and in a wet spring it can rise under the floor itself. Interior drain tile handles both. The perimeter pipe sits in washed gravel below the slab, right beside the footing, so it catches water before it reaches the surface and carries it to a sump crock. A strong primary pump moves it out, and a battery backup keeps things running if a spring storm takes the power down.
Out on a rural lot, the discharge matters as much as the pump. We run the line far enough to drain away from the house and set it up so it won't freeze solid in a Wisconsin winter.
