Exterior Waterproofing for Menomonee Falls homes
Menomonee Falls is one of the biggest villages in Wisconsin, and its basements come from a lot of different decades. Drive from a 1950s ranch to a subdivision built last spring and you cross three or four ways of building a foundation. The water problem looks similar in all of them: a damp stripe where the wall meets the floor, a wet corner after a thunderstorm, a musty smell every April. Exterior waterproofing goes after that water where it starts, on the outside face of the wall.
The block basements from the 1950s through the 1970s are the ones that soak through most. Hollow block holds water, the mortar joints wick it in, and the original tar coating wore out long ago. Newer poured walls usually stay dry until a shrinkage crack opens and lets the clay's water in along one line. Homes on the lower ground near the Menomonee River see the water table climb in spring, so hydrostatic pressure presses on the whole wall at once.
For any of these, the job is the same sequence. We excavate along the wall down to the footing, scrape and repair the block or concrete, and roll on a liquid waterproof membrane. Dimple board goes over it, new weeping tile goes in at the footing, and washed gravel and graded backfill finish the trench.
