Exterior Waterproofing for Greendale homes
Greendale was laid out as a planned greenbelt village in the late 1930s, and plenty of the original homes are still standing, well kept and loved. Their basements are small and were built long before modern drainage. After more than eighty Wisconsin winters, the old walls have taken a lot of frost, snowmelt and clay pressure, and damp corners or a white chalky line along the block are common.
Owners here tend to care about the look of the house and the lot. That matters for exterior work, because we are digging next to foundations, walks and gardens that have been part of the street for generations. We plan the dig with you, set aside plantings you want saved, and put the yard back graded to shed water. Above ground, the home looks the same once the soil settles and the grass fills in.
Below ground, the change is real. We excavate to the footing, clean and patch the old wall, apply a liquid waterproof membrane and cover it with dimple board. New weeping tile goes in at the footing bedded in washed gravel. That gives water a path away from a basement that never had one. When the Village of Greendale requires a permit, we pull it.
