Foundation and waterproofing work in Shorewood
Houses in Shorewood are close. Many were built in the early 1900s on lots so narrow that the side yard is a strip of grass, a shared walkway or a driveway barely wider than a car. That makes digging outside a foundation hard, sometimes impossible without crossing onto a neighbor's lot. Meanwhile, century-old walls on the lakefront side of Milwaukee's East Side have taken a lot of wet seasons, and seepage, cracks and damp corners are what we find most.
Because of those lots, most of our Shorewood jobs are done from inside the basement. Interior drain tile goes in under the slab along the walls and carries water to a sump pump with battery backup, with no yard digging at all. We seal cracks, brace walls with carbon fiber or steel beams, and add wall sealing and vapor barriers. When a front or back wall does have room, exterior waterproofing is on the table. We also cut egress windows. When the Village of Shorewood requires a permit, we pull it.
