Foundation and waterproofing work in Goerke's Corners
Goerke's Corners sits at the crossroads of I-94 and Bluemound Road in the Town of Brookfield, just west of the City of Brookfield. For us it's practically next door. Our shop on Easy St in Waukesha is a few minutes away, so a same-week visit is easy to set up. Many of the homes around the corridor are ranches built on block or poured basements, sitting on the same heavy glacial clay that runs through this part of the county. That clay swells after snowmelt and heavy storms, and the walls feel it.
In a ranch basement, the long straight walls are where trouble shows first: a horizontal crack in block, a vertical crack in a poured wall, or water along the floor edge. We seal cracks, brace bowing walls with carbon fiber straps or steel I-beams, and put in interior drain tile with a sump pump and battery backup. Exterior waterproofing, interior sealing, egress windows and steel support beams are all part of the same crew's work. When the Town of Brookfield requires a permit, we pull it.
